when birthday cakes lie

look what my 19-year old niece and her boyfriend gave me for my birthday two days ago. separately, i got a greeting card from her younger sister saying “happy 18th birthday!” they say that asians/orientals look younger than their age. as for me, i’m just happy that my younger loved ones see me as their “aunt, sister and friend”

jogging view

these are just some of the many things i see whenever i go for walking, jogging or biking around our village (almost always with my little camera in tow). these are tiny, tiny things. i could only see the purple weed and the baby butterfly clearly (and how pretty they were) when viewed from my camera screen.

palm sunday

my first palm sunday after so many years. this was taken inside the makeshift chapel in our new neighborhood (the real church is about to be built). palm branches are sold for P20 each before the mass. after the mass, everyone raises the fronds as they wait for the priest to bless them with holy water. people then bring them home. some place them by their religious idols. i’ve seen my family place them by the windows.
